THREE PROGRAMMES
The Work the Studio
Is Equipped to Do
Each programme has a defined scope, a stated price, and a consistent process from intake to return. There are no hidden additions and no work proceeds without your agreement.
← Back to HomeHow the Studio Approaches Every Piece
Regardless of which programme applies, every piece that enters the studio moves through the same basic sequence. It is inspected in full on arrival, its condition is recorded in writing and photograph, and an estimate is prepared. No bench work starts until that estimate has been shared and agreed by the owner.
The studio's methodology is conservative. Where original parts can be retained, they are. Where surfaces show age, the studio discusses with the owner how much — if any — of that age should be addressed. The studio does not refinish dials unless specifically instructed, and even then will present the case for leaving them as they are.
Timelines are given honestly at intake. If a piece will take four weeks, the owner is told four weeks. If timelines shift — because of parts availability or because a closer inspection has revealed something unexpected — the owner is informed before the original return date passes.

BENCH SERVICE
Replacement of Worn Hands and Markers
A bench service for watches where hands or indices have suffered from age, oxidation, or minor accidents. The studio inspects hand bushings for tightness, straightens bent hands where the metal permits, and replaces hands with calibre-appropriate references where necessary. Loose hour markers are secured, and lume residue is conserved where the owner wishes to retain the patina.
- Calibre-appropriate hand references sourced specifically
- Dial removed only where the work requires it
- Original dial preserved without refinishing
- Photographic record accompanies the work file
PROGRAMME PRICE
RM 410
PROCESS STEPS
Intake inspection of dial, hands, and hand bushings with photographic record.
Assessment of which hands require replacement versus straightening; lume discussion with owner.
Sourcing of calibre-appropriate references where replacement is required.
Bench fitting, alignment check, and final condition photography prior to return.
LOGISTICS PROGRAMME
Watch Drop-Off and Collection Programme
A structured arrangement for owners who are not in George Town. The studio manages a secure, insured courier process for receiving and returning pieces — handling intake documentation, photographing the watch on arrival and prior to dispatch, and providing a written estimate before any bench work is authorised. This programme exists to make remote engagement straightforward. Courier and handling costs are charged at cost.
- Insured courier both directions
- Reference and serial noted at intake
- Photography on receipt and prior to return
- Pairs with any of the studio's bench programmes
PROGRAMME PRICE
RM 140 + courier at cost
PROCESS STEPS
Owner contacts the studio to describe the piece and the bench service needed.
Intake form completed; studio arranges courier collection from owner's address.
Piece photographed on arrival; written estimate prepared and sent to owner.
After agreed bench work, piece photographed again and dispatched by insured courier to owner.
SPECIALIST PROGRAMME
Solid Gold and Precious Metal Case Care
A specialist bench programme for cases in solid gold, white gold, platinum, and other precious-metal alloys. The studio's approach favours conservation — particularly on vintage references where material thickness is a consideration. Work includes inspection of stress points, careful cleaning of detail areas, light polishing along original lines where agreed, and attention to bezels, pushers, crown tubes, and screw-down assemblies. Owners receive a written record and a note on recommended care intervals.
- Alloy-appropriate treatment throughout
- Original polish lines followed, not overwritten
- Vintage case thickness accounted for explicitly
- Written record and future care note on return
PROGRAMME PRICE
RM 880
PROCESS STEPS
Intake inspection of case metal, stress points, bezel, and hardware with photographic record.
Written assessment of recommended work; polishing extent discussed and agreed with owner.
Careful case work carried out along original surface lines; hardware checked and secured.
Completion photography, written work record, and recommended interval note prepared for owner.

Best for
Hands & Markers
Owners in Penang with hands showing oxidation, misalignment, or index movement. Also suited to pieces where a careful sourcing of replacement hands is the key consideration.
Best for
Drop-Off Programme
Owners in Kuala Lumpur, East Malaysia, or abroad who want studio-quality work without the need to travel. Always paired with a bench programme.
Best for
Precious Metal Case
Owners of solid gold, white gold, or platinum-cased watches — particularly vintage references — who want careful, conservation-first attention to the case exterior.
What Applies to All Programmes
No Work Without Agreement
A written estimate is submitted before bench work begins in all three programmes. No work proceeds without the owner's explicit agreement.
Photography at Both Ends
Intake and return condition are both photographed and shared with the owner as part of the standard service record.
Controlled Environment Storage
Pieces held by the studio are stored in a humidity-controlled space. Nothing is left on an open bench between working sessions.
Conservation First
The default position is to preserve original surfaces, components, and patina unless specifically instructed otherwise. Owners decide — the studio advises.
Owner Data Discretion
Intake documentation is held privately. Reference numbers, serials, and owner details are not shared with third parties.
Clear Communication
Owners are informed at intake, at any scope change, and at completion. If a return date needs to shift, the studio communicates this before the original date passes.
